Who we are
This site is run by [OPERATING ENTITY — TBD], [POSTAL ADDRESS — TBD]. Questions or requests: [CONTACT EMAIL — TBD].
What we collect
- Episode requests: the topic, angle or write-in you pick. Requests are counted with a scrambled (salted, hashed) fingerprint of your connection and browser so nobody can stuff the count. We never store your raw IP address.
- Carves: your four picks, any write-ins, and the display name you type for your card.
- Emails, only if you opt in: your address, where you signed up, when, and the exact wording you agreed to. Opting in is always a separate, unticked box.
- Retired games: previously submitted carves, cases, calls and taps may remain in the archive, tied to a random account id. Previously claimed seats may include a handle and sign-in email. The games are no longer available.
- Share images: made from what's already stored (your picks and the crowd's totals). A hashed fingerprint limits how many a device can make per hour.
- Anti-abuse: hashed device ids and hashed connection fingerprints. Never raw IP addresses.
We don't ask for your real name, birth date or location. The age question is answered on your device; we keep only a yes/no there, never the year.
Analytics only with your say-so
We don't run analytics, ads, tracking pixels or session recording today. If we ever add analytics, nothing loads until you choose Accept in Cookie settings (bottom of every page). Reject is always one tap and is the default.
AI images
Rushmore previews send the topic and four selections to Lovable AI, which processes them with OpenAI image models and, as a backup or for official episode images, Google Gemini image models, to create granite sculptures. OpenAI (via Lovable AI) and Google (via Lovable AI) act as processors. With the show's approval, well-known public figures may appear as generated stone portraits; private individuals are not generated. Images are labeled AI-generated fan art and do not imply endorsement. Names and information are shown separately from the generated artwork. Your display name and email are never sent to the image model. Hashed connection fingerprints limit portrait requests. The Simulator stores your topic, picks, generated image and optional display name for public sharing. An optional Submit to the show checkbox nominates it for staff review. A Google Gemini text model (via Lovable AI) processes only topic and picks for safety, suggestions and fictional debate; your name and email never go to either model. Historical image-generation email records retain only a hashed address for their daily allowance.
How long we keep it
- Hashed fingerprints and rate-limit records: deleted after 30 days.
- Carves, requests, calls and Table activity: kept for the season, then in the show's archive.
- Pulse answers: 24 months, then deleted. Notifications: 90 days.
- AI images: kept for the season, then in the archive. The hashed email used for the daily limit: 30 days.
- Email sign-ups: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only a record that you opted out, so we never email you again.
Deleting your data
Email [CONTACT EMAIL — TBD] with the email you used or the link to your Rushmore, and we'll delete it, usually within 30 days. Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link that needs no login.
13 and up only
This site is for people aged 13 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child under 13 has sent us something, contact [CONTACT EMAIL — TBD] and we'll delete it.
Your US state privacy rights
Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and other states with privacy laws), you may have the right to know what we hold about you, get a copy, correct it, delete it, and opt out of sale, sharing for targeted ads, or profiling. We don't sell your data, share it for targeted advertising or profile you. To use any of these rights, contact [CONTACT EMAIL — TBD]. We won't treat you differently for asking. You can appeal a decision by replying to our answer.
Stored on your device
Only strictly necessary items:
- rm_age — Remembers that you passed the age check (yes/no only — never your birth year).
- rm_fp — A random device id, hashed on our server, used for one-vote-per-device and anti-abuse.
- rm_consent — Remembers your cookie choices.
- Sound preference — Kept in memory for the carve screen only; nothing is stored.
Third parties
- Lovable Cloud hosts the site and its database.
- YouTube videos use privacy-enhanced embeds and load nothing until you tap play.
- X: "Post to X" opens X's own site, where X's privacy policy applies.
Fonts are hosted on this site. We never sell or rent your data.
